FAQ's

Subscription dues are just like a magazine subscription. It gives you 12 months of membership in the VFW. The basic breakdown of how it works is:

Since 2015, dues are processed on an annual basis. Members paying their initial dues are processed at National, where their future expiration date will be the last day of the month processed. Example would be that you send in your first dues 12 July and are processed on the 21st. Your future expiration date would be 31 July for all years you continue to pay.

There are two forms of membership, Life and Annual.

Life Membership rates differ by age, decreasing in 10-year increments. Most of our members are Life Members. You can choose a one-time payment or 12 monthly installments. Contact the Post for details.

Annual Membership dues are $35 and due to National by the last day of the anniversary month you joined (called subscription dues). For annual members who joined before 2015, the due date is Dec 31. You will receive reminders in the mail in the months leading up to it, and we ask to pay ahead of the due date to allow for processing time. You can easily pay these by making and accessing your account at National (click "login" in the upper right) and paying with a card.

If you attend our monthly meetings, annual members have a chance of winning an upgrade to Life Membership through our Attendance Drawing.

The theme for both programs is:
"What a Veteran Taught Me About America"

What we call "Scuttlebutt" is just an open-door session for any Veteran or family member to come in, relax, and talk all-things Veteran. Coffee is on, and often there are donuts and/or sausage biscuits.

The term "scuttlebutt" is synonymous to "water cooler talk".
